SES Mission


  • Support the student information system (SIS) operations of admissions, academic advising, financial aid, student financials, student records, and campus community activities
  • Support the policies, processes, and services of the academic mission of IU and each of its campuses
  • Perform institution-wide operations in the areas of SIS system management, reporting, help desk, security, data administration, operational support, internal controls, academic policy, and compliance

SES Goals


  • Provide high quality service to campus units responsible for supporting student operations
  • Manage day to day responsibilities of coordinating, configuring, running, monitoring, staffing, reviewing, and completing SIS system and business processes
  • Coordinate enhancements and support SIS development projects with campus-based functional staff to address IU initiatives, student service, compliance, and cost efficiencies through technology
  • Coordinate decision support services for student information components using the Indiana University Information Environment (IUIE). Develop and provide reports and other tools to meet campus information requirements
  • Provide expertise in financial aid business processes to address federal, state, and institutional compliance requirements
  • Preserve common standards in the maintenance of student records across all IU campuses. Maintain data integrity through academic structure and university policies and procedures, as well as through external policies and legislation
