Course Catalog, Student Information Systems
Course Catalog System Overview
Introduction
Student Enrollment Services maintains the Course Catalog in the Student Information System (S.I.S.). The IUIS master course inventory information was converted to the S.I.S. course catalog in June 2003. The MCI is no longer being updated, effective July 2005. The most current information can be found in the S.I.S. course catalog.
The course catalog information is available to users in the inquiry mode of the course catalog (Home > Manage Student Resources > Establish Courses > Inquire > Course Catalog Summary). Users must be given access by their data manager. You may also be able to extract information from the Indiana University Information Environment (IUIE).
In the S.I.S., users can view details of a specific course. By using the IUIE, users can produce a report with detailed information about multiple courses offered at IU including official course title, course number, credit hours, last semester offered, and course status.
Course Number Reservation
Course number reservations are added to the S.I.S. course catalog with the title of "Reserved Course Numbers." If you would like to reserve a course number, please contact Student Enrollment Services at 812-855-2218.
